Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Elementary School, Wilmington, California, is celebrating 65 years of academic excellence. Saints Peter and Paul School is an integral part of Wilmington's Saints Peter and Paul Church, the second oldest parish in Los Angeles Archdiocese - celebrating 144 years since its foiunding in 1865. While most parishioners live in nearby Wilmington, the parish and school draw from other parts of the South Bay: San Pedro, Torrance, and the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
Saints Peter and Paul offers students a challenging curriculum - establishing a firm foundation of Reading, Mathematics and Language Arts. The school features superior academic accreditation, spiritual formation, and strong ethical values. Religion is taught daily and infused in all curricula. Students attend Mass weekly. Twice during the school year, students receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Sacramental preparation for Recondiliation, Eucharistand Confirmation is given. Special school Masses are planned during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Catholic Schools Week. Students are lectors, servers, and cantors at all school Masses.
Saints Peter and Paul classrooms are an open and friendly, safe setting, allowing students the freedom to explore and contribute to their educational experience. The Iowa Test of Basic Skills/Cognitive Abilities Test ITBS/CAT are administered in grades 1.3,5, and 7. Individualized education is provided throughout each subject and grade level.
